Collage collections

Martha Stewart

Southern Living

Everyone loves a good photo wall, but if you've ever tried to create one you may have found that it wasn't as simple as you thought. I think these three collage walls are great examples of walls that are full but still easy on the eye. I chose these three examples from the million that you've probably seen because they are so different from each other, but you may see a common trait between them. You'll notice that while there is a mish-mash of different sized frames, there is always a line of symmetry or a focal point somewhere. Those two things are the key because your eye needs somewhere to focus and a line on which to run. Keep those two things in mind (and make sure you lay out your design on the floor first!) when creating your wall and it may come a little easier next time!
